So about a week ago I had a conversation with my dad, it went a little something like this...
**Phone rings**
Dad- "Hello"
Me - "Hellooo" in that tone I always use. Kinda sing songy kinda happy
Dad- "What do you want?" he's using his I'm pissy tone
Me- "What's up?"
Dad- "You KNOW I hate it when you do that!"
Me- "Huh??"
Dad- "When you say say hello"
Me- "Okaaay what would you prefer I say?" as I chuckle a little bit
Dad- "Just tell me what you want"
Me- "Okaaay, so in your world the way this conversation should go is.... you 'Hello', me 'Is mom there?'"
Dad- "What do you want??!!" and now I can tell he's SERIOUSLY irritated
Me- "that's what I want, is mom there?"
So he hands the phone to mom and that was the end of the conversation, until TODAY...
So today I call home and dad answers
Dad- "Hello"
Me- "Hellooo, what's up?" I'm thinking... crap I said hello
so the next thing I know my mom's on the phone... YEAH my dad is totally NOT talking to me!! Apparently we're fighting. So I tell my mom to to check out what dad's problem is, and get back to me. And yeah, it's totally the hello thing.
Who knew hello could cause so much trouble. I mean seriously now, it's it just a common courtesy to say hello? Shouldn't he proud that I remembered the manners that he taught me? Go figure.
No wonder I need therapy... sometimes it really is all our parents fault! :)

Wow, i think your dad is going thru midlife crisis....seriously....cuz that's a really dumb thing to get SOOOO agitated about....he has himself all worked up and stressed out...over the word hello?!?! You can call me and hellloooo me anytime you want homie :-)
p.s. it's not like you JUST started being so animated either, yanno.....
