Because I've Been Yelled At....

I guess I should put a blog up. lol. My sister just yelled at me for not blogging. Apparently it's her way of keeping up with my life. So to appease the sibling... here we go....

I've been way busy, but staying out of trouble. The semester is winding down so that's exciting. I have 2 more weeks then I'll have a month off. I'm looking at getting my LPN in June, and I can't believe how quickly the time is flying by.

I spent the weekend of the 8th with a 24hr nasty flu bug (or food poisoning) that kicked my butt. The weekend after I went to my friend Jaime's. I always enjoy going to visit her house because it's like a mini vacation, totally relaxing and low key. I managed to get several pages done in my scrapbook. (I haven't scrapbooked since I started school, so I'm a wee bit behind) Plus I was able to eat at Panera bread which was a totally new experience for me, and it was yummy.

The boy went hunting for the first time and loved it. He was pretty upset that he didn't get a deer. I tried to explain to him that it takes YEARS before you get a deer, but he didn't seem to care he wanted one NOW! Not that shooting a deer with a bb gun is going to get him far... but we'll go with it.

This weekend I've enjoyed doing nothing. I spent yesterday making cinnamon rolls for breakfast and then lounging around the house getting fat and watching Madagascar with the boy. Then we went out and shoveled the driveway. (To work off the cinnamon rolls) Today we went to church and did homework and now I'm off to make a ham and cheesy potato's for dinner.

I did get my first evaluation from work this week. I got good grades, 100% on some parts, and hopefully that will transfer into a raise next year. For some reason they seem to like me at the hospital. She said that I am frequently requested to cover and that they hope I stay on once I get my nursing degree. So that's cool. It would be nice to be able to slide into a job after school.

Oh and speaking of school, I am well into my clinical at the hospital. I spent an entire day in a class learning how to chart on the computer... ugggh... and I've taken care of one lady. And I was so nervous when the instructor came to watch me do my vitals that I ... yes me... put the stethoscope down on the wrong side of the chest to get a heart beat. Seriously... I suck. I was so embarrassed. Like.... I wanted to just go crawl into the bed next to the patient and ask for a psych eval.

So that's it, that's the news. I'll try to be better this week with my post!!! Oh and I have from Wednesday-next Monday off to do NOTHING! well... except go shopping on black Friday... look out world I'm headed out at 530 to shop till I drop. Consider yourself warned! lol
