Conversation Of The Day

Grandma- "Stephie.... if you're planning on getting another guy again, you're going to have to start doing yourself up... EVERYDAY!"

Me **moving crap around the house, basically... distracted**- "Huh? What do you mean? What are you talking about?"

Grandma- "I mean, you're going to have to start getting all done up, hair make up, and start wearing your high heels."

Me **somewhat indignant**- "My heels, grandma?"

Grandma- "Yeah, that's what guys look for. Heels, makeup, all done up."

Me- "Sooooo these sweats, and baseball cap... not working for ya?"

Grandma- "Nooo.... I'm just saying, if you want to get a guy you've gotta do yourself up, everyday."

Me- "Sooooo that whole thought of finding a guy who loves me, and thinks I'm cute all the time even in sweats......"

Grandma- "That comes later. First ya have to do yourself up. All the time."

Me- "Ok... ok... I'll go shower. shheeeesh."

I mean, I guess... she knows what's she's talking about. She was married at 16, and married for 50yrs, soooo.... I should probably take note.

And for the record. We were moving stuff from the storage unit to the attic. So I had an excuse to wear sweats thank you very much! Although.... make no mistake, next time I'm moving in a mini skirt and heels baby!!!! Cuz mumma's getting herself a man!!!! LOLOLOL.

I love my grandma!

Did you ever hear about that book that was published in the 50's telling women how to keep their husband's happy. That book advised women (who did not work at the time) to get up early every morning and have on make-up, skirt and high heels to make breakfast for hubby. Then freshen up before he came home from work (make-up, high heels) so you look perfect when he came home and have a glass of scotch (insert hubby's drink of choice) ready for him because he worked a long day. Grandma apparently read that book.
