I'm Going To Do It.....

I am... for the first time in my life I will go to a stinkin movie alone! I really want to see Harispray, which I know... who wants to see that? But I do. I really do, because a) who doesn't want to see a wacky scientologist running around in drag, and b) there will be singing and dancing....

I'm kinda a sucker for a good musical. I mean, a movie is acting, and anyone can act. Heck tell a lie and get away with it.... that's acting. But a musical, now that is talent because you're singing, you're dancing, all the while making it seem normal that leather wearing teens from the 50's break out into song when they see a hot chick walk by. I mean seriously!!! I buy it every time I watch Greese. I'm like.. "Hey... where were the leather singing thugs in MY high school?"

What I find interesting about Hairspray is that the lead, is a unknown actress. She was working at a Dairy Queen just out of high school and got the part for this movie. I think that rocks. So I'm interested to see it. That and, did I mention there is a crazy scientologist running around in drag?

So I'm going. Who knows maybe this will be my new favorite. Like Rent. I mean Rent was basically an AIDS Awareness campaign shoved down your throat, but the music was great, and the actors were pure talent (who knew Detective Green from Law and Order could sing like that??? He can sing to me annnnnyyyytime...) But I digress I bought the Rent soundtrack and the movie just to jam to. Who knows... maybe I'll be jamming to Hairspray before to long....

So the point here is... I'm going.... to the movies.... alone.... which is mildly pathetic... but I'm doing it. I think I'm going to go Sunday night... by myself... unless... you want to go with me..... ;)
