I went to Michigan Works today. The purpose of the appointment was for them to walk me through the process that is now going to be my life for the next few years. Basically I have to check in with Michigan Works every month from now until 1.5yrs after I graduate. While it sounds rather frustrating I'm actually excited. In exchange for handing in paper work, keeping my grades up, and making myself accountable to this agency, they are going to pay for my tuition, books, scrubs, mileage to and from school, minor repairs to my car and other stuff. I actually got a little teary in the office. lol. I thanked her and she asked if I was ok, and I said... "Well.. I wouldn't be able to do this if is wasn't for this program." so I think she was happy, and I was happy. And the best part is as of TOMORROW they start paying my gas mileage.
I also asked about Unemployment benefits while attending school, and they told me to fill out a waiver and it appears that going to school is not going to affect my unemployment!!! I'll find out more about that tomorrow. So see... good news all around!
I looked at my schedule for next semester I'm trying to figure out how best to work my school and attempt to fit in work. It appears that I am going to get a job at the old hospital I used to work at fairly soon. They called today to start with my background check. So my guess right now is that school will take place next semester or Mondays and Wednesdays. My thought was, doing it on Mondays and Wednesdays I can open my schedule up to work the other days of the week.
So what do you think? Good plan? Bad plan???
That's the latest in my life. I'm off to nursing school as of January, and hopefully I'll learn something cooler than how to FOIL. (Who knew FOIL is used for things other than wrapping food!)

That's how I did it when I was in school full time. I had classes during the day on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so I would work on Mondays, Wednesdays, and most Fridays. You really have to budget your evenings and weekends for homework, but it's a nice plan. It keeps you busy and motivated. :)
Congrats woman! You deserve it. I hope you have time to be my friend still!
S
Sarah-- I don't WANT to be motivated! lol. Actually I'm a little stressed looking at the schedule, but I'll figure it out. If Sarah can do it... so can I! :)
S- I'd love to continue being your friend, but my new boyfriend, Eric, said that he wants me to only talk to him. He specifically stated that he felt you were not a good influence on me. So it is with much regret that I must say ado.
ado.
Now I must go make out with my boyfriend!
I know... you're jealous.
BWWWAAAAAHHHHHAAAAAHHHHAAAAAAAAA! I crack myself up!
