Camping

Camping was super, way cool, fun! :) Is that even a complete sentence? The boy and I didn't get there until late Friday night because VBS ran late. However we got there just in time for Dave to make the hobo dinners, which were awesome, then we hung out for the evening. It was cooooold the first night. The boy woke up in the middle of the night crying that he was cold so I pulled him in bed with me and then he kept saying... "oooooh you're so warm Momma. I love you!" It cracked me up. Saturday we spent most of the day at the beach, about 3.5 hrs to be exact! I walked away with a HUMONGO sunburn and the boy did just fine. I like to think of it as pre planning for myself seeing that, that night even though it was colder than the first night I slept just fine considering my skin was the inferno that it was, it kept me warm all night long! We had a good time, relaxing and just spending time with each other. AND I must add that Dave is the best camping cook EVER! All those years at Big Boy must of paid off. I took notes so that when I go camping in August with Jeanne I'll have the camp cooking thing down pat!

The neighbors kept looking at us weird when they saw us casting the fishing pole through the campsite. (It still has the red fish attached to the end) My sister, copped out of beach duty by saying she had "Homework" to do, but mysteriously ended up getting a good nap in while the rest of us were sweating it out at the beach! But she IS the camping queen so I won't complain to much because she's got the camping thing down to a science and it is fun to camp with her. When she's not being bossy and rude.... ooops did I say that??! :) Overall I'd have to say I definitely got in touch with my inner Rousseau--that's a LOST reference-- and I enjoyed myself. Almost to the point that I'd do it once a month if I could. Maybe even more often. But for now... we'll wait until August!
