It's A Beautiful Day

Anyway... I had a Beautiful Day yesterday and a great weekend overall. It was pretty laid back, and lazy. The boy and I never made it up to tourist land to the north. $3.50 a gallon was way to much money... but we did get up early and go to the summer library reading kick off Saturday morning. Which was fun, he got to see a magician, and was LOVING it. We loaded up the suburban with the communal 1st wife, (aka... my best friend) and her kids, my boy, and some other family's kids they were watching. So we headed out and had a great time. The library did an AWESOME job decorating, and having the theme. It was too cool. I always remember singing up for the summer reading program each Summer. My girlfriend Molly would draaaag me to the library make me sign up, agree to read x amount of books, and then get irritated when I wouldn't finish them. However that is how I discovered Bridge to Terabithia, and that was the first book I read and bawled like a baby on. After the library I'm somewhat ashamed to admit, but the boy and I went back home, and zonked out for about.... 5hrs.

I KNOW... it's terrible, it was beautiful out and there we were... snoozing. But... how can it be wrong when it feels so right? ;) It was sooooooooooo needed. Then we headed up to get a burger with the rest of the fam later that evening, and had yet another communal bonfire.

I'm not sure how these smores are working with the point system....
